ABOUT

I’m Serina Chowdhury, a lover of art, life, and how the two intertwine and mirror each other.

My Story

Born in Bangladesh, I moved to the United States at the age of 10, a transition that deeply shaped both my identity and my art. The cultural shifts I experienced at such a young age caused a desire to adapt and fit in, and it wasn’t until I was 23—on the brink of graduating college with plans for medical school—that I realized my path lay elsewhere. Art, which was always just a hobby, became my path to self-discovery.

The journey to finding my artistic style quickly transformed into a deeper exploration of my most authentic self. I came to understand that art is a reflection of what’s within us. The best art emerges when we embrace our true selves, free from fear or limitation. My artistic journey has been about uncovering layers of self-expression, reconnecting with my roots, and learning to create without constraints.

My Work

My recent work has been heavily influenced by my Bengali heritage. The intricate patterns, the colors, the flowing fabrics, and the ornate designs have always been incredibly beautiful to me.

I am also deeply inspired by folk art. I love the raw and earthy beauty of it. There’s something so powerful about the way it conveys meaning through symbols, organic shapes, and patterns rather than striving for realistic representation.

YOUR BRAND

My creative process is intuitive and often begins without a clear concept of the final outcome. I paint the first layers with fluid paint and allow the composition to happen organically on the canvas. Each new layer is built upon the previous one, making each painting one of a kind.

Within the final layers, I begin to carve out symbols and elements from the abstraction, guiding the painting into the direction it was already heading towards.

MY MISSION

My mission as an artist is to get out of my own way. Honest, impactful art happens when you allow yourself to become a vessel for what wants to come through. This surrendering, where you're not controlling but channeling, creates art that is alive. It speaks a language that is both transcendent and deeply familiar. I believe everyone has the power to create in this way. It’s all about tapping into the Creator within us and putting aside what’s blocking it.
